How can TDM be diagnosed? |
Since there is no established guideline for the diagnosis of TDM, there is no “single” treatment of this disease that can be called the best. However, most of the experts believe that neurosurgical therapy is one of the best ways to start off the treatment of this disease. There are some other diseases that can also have same type of symptoms, so the physicians usually conduct a careful patient history and clinical examination to resolve the causes of symptoms. As it is a chronic disease, physicians prefer treating the consequences of this disease rather than treating it directly. Most of the time, the symptoms of TMD are provisional and does not tend to develop into a more serious condition. For people facing this problem, symptoms can be relieved by simple treatment conducting at home. At times symptoms are relieved without any specific action; hence, it can re-develop with no warning whatsoever. Eating foods that do not require much chewing can help to relieve the jaw muscles and temporomandibular joint. Cutting foods in smaller pieces to eat can also help the jaw muscles to rest and heal. Therefore, it would be better if a patient of TMD avoids crunchy or hard foods like raw carrots, pretzel or hard rolls. |
